Harbourfront Gives for Mental Health

Supporting mental health, together.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day. Throughout October, Harbourfront Gives is raising funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to help more Canadians get support early, before a difficult stretch becomes a crisis.

Why this matters to us

Mental health shapes how we work, how we show up for the people we care about, and how we get through life’s harder moments. It’s also still something many people hesitate to talk about. We want to help change that by supporting the work that keeps people well and by making the conversation a little easier to start.

Why CMHA

One in five Canadians will experience a mental illness in any given year. Five in five of us have mental health issues that we need to look after. CMHA focuses on prevention, keeping people well in the first place and supporting them after a crisis has passed  Founded in 1918, CMHA reaches more than 1.3 million Canadians each year through its national network.

Our goal

Raise $50,000 for CMHA by October 31.

Three ways to take part

  1. Donate. A gift of any size supports CMHA’s work in communities across Canada.
  2. Check in on yourself. CMHA’s self-check tools take a few minutes and are an easy place to start. Mental Health Meter |  Stress Index
  3. Reach out to someone. A quick call, message, or coffee lets someone know you’re thinking of them.
